Good Morning

Thursday August 26, 2010

Good day to you.  This may be a strange way to start out a web site, but that's OK, because it's my site and I do all the writing and input to it.  So I have the freedom of putting in any kind of material and writing that I wish.  So hang on!

I was out watering the trees (and we have a lot of them) in my back yard this morning before the sun came up.  As I was sitting in my comfortable rocker with the water hose in my hand, I looked up at the sky and God began talking to me in the quiet of birds chirping and water pouring out of the hose.  What a great time to be awake, before most of the world around me was even thinking about waking up.

As I Iooked up into the sky, I started to think about the creation of all of this that I was viewing.  I imagined God in the sky, way beyond what I could see.  I looked at all my pine trees and imagined what it took to create all of them - the design of the birds who were all over the trees, their songs, their tiny brains sensing that water was coming out of my hose, and their desperate need for the water right now.  And as the sun started to come up over the horizon behind me, its rays began to hit on the drops hanging from the pine needles causing the light to shine through them and reflecting back to me the prisms of the color spectrum.

I imagined the atomic structure that it took to make all of this nature I was seeing.  (that's the physicist in me coming out!) The moon had just set to the west, and that got me to thinking about the universe we live in -  and what might be beyond that which we can see, not only with the naked eye, but with modern technology, even the Humble telescope orbiting in space sending back fantastic views of galaxies we had not even suspected were there.  How could anyone of sound mind not believe in God and that He created all this?

Then the thought struck me that we were supposed to be like lights to the world. We that believe in God and His Son, Jesus (Christians) and are dedicated to Him with our lives, are entrusted to reflect His light -  that as the light (God) struck us we were supposed to reflect that light to the rest of the world.  I prayed right then that God would give me the opportunity today to be a light to someone.  Maybe even through this web site.

What a start to another glorious day here in Southern California, where the beauty of God is displayed every day to we that are fortunate enough to live here all the time.

I hope you have a great day no matter where you might be.  God is there too!  And He is ready and willing to accept you into His family.

Enjoy my site.
